Obituary

Reece Norman D. of Lexington Dec. 8, 2012. Beloved husband of Nancy R. (Russell) Reece. Loving father of Ronald N. and his wife Janice of Westwood, Deborah R. Strong and her husband Marvin of Millis, Kathryn E. Reece and her partner Bonnie Rooney of Hudson and the late Robert W. Reece. Cherished Grandfather of Susan Strong, Kristen Gardner and her husband Peter, Thomas Reece, Kelly Haroules, Kathryn Reece, Courtney Haroules, Patricia Reece, Allison Strong, Timothy Haroules, and Paul Haroules, and 3 greatgrandchildren. Also survived by his sister in-laws Madeline, Rose, and Elinor Reece, all of Niagara Falls NY. Also many nieces and nephews. Memorial visiting hours will be held at the Douglass Funeral Home 51 Worthen Rd., Lexington, on Thursday Dec. 13 from 4 to 7 pm. Followed by a Memorial Service at 7 pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the First Baptist Church of Lexington Scholarship Fund or the Salvation Army. Interment will be private.

Passed away on Saturday Dec. 8th at the Emerson Hosp. in Concord after a brief illness.  He was 85 years old.  Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada.  Norman worked as a Director of Safety for Polaroid Corp. in Waltham and Cambridge.   Past President of the American Society of Safety Engineers.  He was a Mason, Simon W. Robinson Masonic Lodge of Lexington and an active member of the congregation at the First Baptist Church of Lexington. He was a Veteran of the US Army WWII.  He graduated from the University of Buffalo, receiving a BS in Engineering. Athletics were an important part of his life, including hockey, basketball, tennis and semi-pro football. Later in life Norm loved to be on the golf course with his family and friends, frequently at Pine Meadows in Lexington.
