Lexington, MA – Patricia Thompson (Proctor) Mars , 76, passed away on April 2, 2018 due to complications of emphysema. Patti was the beloved wife of 56 years to James Robert Mars, and devoted mother of Gregory Mars (daughter-in-law - Alina Mars) of Redmond, WA, Christopher Mars of Lexington, MA, Cindy (Mars) Horoho (son-in-law - Colonel Mark Horoho (U.S. Army, Retired) of Clifton, VA, and Mathew Mars of San Jose, CA. Patti was the oldest of four children and is survived by her sister Pamela P. (Proctor) Fitzgerald and brothers, Harry W. Proctor Jr., and John M. Proctor. She was a loving and dedicated grandmother and great-grandmother to grandchildren Rebekah, Stefanie, Lauren, Daniel, James and great-grandson Suede. She also had many adoring nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Patti was predeceased by her father Lieutenant Colonel (U.S. Army, Retired) Harry W. Proctor and mother Lorraine T. Proctor.

A graduate of Immaculata High School in Washington D.C., she would go on to earn an Associate Degree from Wheeling College.  First and foremost, she was a full time mother but also had a career as an Office Administrator and IT Specialist working at Dataquest for more than twenty years. An avid reader, she enjoyed studying history and genealogy. A passionate advocate for mental health reform, Patti was a board member and volunteer with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) at the Santa Clara, California and Middlesex, Massachusetts Chapters.

A memorial Mass in Patti's honor will be held on Saturday April 14 ^th at 11:00 am, Sacred Heart Parish, 16 Follen Rd, Lexington, MA.
