TAVILLA, Paul J. Of Arlington, MA on November 6, 2014. Paul leaves his beloved wife of 58 years, Mary Jane (Giardella). Loving and devoted father of Joyce Hagopian and her husband Russell of Waltham, MA. He also leaves his grandchildren Brandon and Brittany who were his pride and joy of life. Brother of Tina Maselli of NJ, Pauline Citro of SC, Rosalie Tavilla of FL , Richard Tavilla of Bedford, MA and his late brothers Stephen, Tony, Joseph, Ernie and David Tavilla along with many nieces and nephews. He served in the US army stationed in France from 1957-1959. Paul and his brothers owned and operated the P. Tavilla Company, wholesale produce distributors, at the New England Produce Center in Chelsea, MA. Paul was also well known for holding the Guinness world record in grape catching which led to many television appearances including Johnny Carson and Regis Philbin. He especially enjoyed the many smiles it brought during charity events and hospital visits to children. Paul was a wonderful hard working man who had a generous heart and most of all loved and adored his family. A funeral service celebrating his life will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Grace Chapel, 59 Worthen Rd, Lexington, MA, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
