Stavropoulos, Peter (Takis), 77, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2017. Peter was born February 19, 1939, in Kalamata, Greece to Yianni and Eleni Stavropoulos and was the younger brother to Vasiliki Critikos and Michael Stavropoulos. He leaves his wife Jeannette Zohar Stavropoulos, former wife Niki Pantazis, mother to daughters Joanna Shumway and Maria Ready, son-in-law's Kevin Shumway and Stephen Ready, and adoring grandchildren: Carly, Noah, Lucas and Anthony. In his early years, Peter played professional soccer in Greece before moving to Germany to pursue his studies. He then continued his studies at Boston University where he received his degree in food microbiology. Passionate about his career, Peter opened Analytical Testing Laboratories, Inc. which he successfully ran for over 45 years. He not only took pride in his business, but he made it his life's mission and only recently retired. Peter loved gardening, traveling, helping those in need, and most of all being with his family. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 12 at The St. Nicholas Church, 17 Meriam St, Lexington, MA. Viewing at the church begins at 10:00 am followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Peter's name to: St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Lexington, MA. Interment Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
