Bates, Phyllis A. (Rinn), 93 of Burlington, formerly of Lexington, September 1, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Donald H. Bates, Sr. Loving mother of Lorna Grant and her partner Kevin of Burlington, Robert J. Bates and his wife Maryann of Burlington, Paul S. Bates and his wife Julie of Marlborough, and the late Donald H. Bates, Jr. and his wife Andrea. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Ray, Lorna, DJ, Denise, Ryan, Kelly, Jeff, Heather, Jillian, and Justin, and 9 great grandchildren, Seth, Jake, Sarah, Dylann, Drew, Owen, Wes, Jack, and Molly.

Phyllis's primary care and love was for her family. She was a devoted sports mom, taking her kids to their various games. She also loved her town of Lexington where she served as a Crossing Guard for almost 15 years, while raising her 4 children. Later in life she was a receptionist in a dentist's office in Lexington.

Calling Hours will be held Thursday September 5 at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington from 5pm to 7pm. Memorial Mass on Friday September 6 at St. Brigid Church, 1984 Mass. Ave. Lexington at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Interment Westview Cemetery, 520 Bedford Street, Lexington, MA.
