Phyllis. W. (White) Mottla passed away at home on November 27, 2018. Beloved wife of the late William F. Mottla and predeceased by her parents Anna G. Snow and Raymond L. White, her siblings Raymond L. White Jr. and Barbara Fiske, as well as her step-mother, Grace White. She is survived by her step-sister Francis Durkin.

Phyllis is survived by her sons and daughter: William F. Mottla Jr. and his wife Pamela; Christopher P. Mottla and his wife Lisa; and Lesley A. Mottla and her husband James K. Gardner. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren Zachary Mottla, Avery Mottla, Ethan Mottla and Rafer Gardner, all of whom she loved and spoiled dearly.

Born in Somerville, Phyllis grew up in Lexington and her beloved Truro, Cape Cod where her ancestors settled after arriving on the Good Ship Anne in 1623. A life-long resident of Lexington, she graduated from Lexington High School, and received a degree from the Modern School of Fashion and Design in Boston. Over the years she worked as a dedicated, caring and loving mother, a talented seamstress for her family and friends, a hospice care giver, and as a team member in daughter's art studio. She loved gardening, reading, cooking, designing and sewing clothes, and, in her earlier days, dancing and hosting parties and family gatherings. She will be remembered by her loving family as an extremely kind, sweet, generous, strong and creatively talented person who dedicated her life to putting her family first.

Funeral service at Douglass Funeral Home 51 Worthen Road, Lexington on Friday December 7 at 12:00-1:00 PM. Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend.

A private family interment will follow the service at Westview Cemetery Lexington.
