Obituary

Ralph R. Musto, of Revere, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Ralph was the son of the late Dr. Ralph Robert Musto Sr. and late Renata A. Musto of Revere. He was the beloved husband of Joan M. Musto of Lexington MA. for 64 years, Ralph was also a loving father to Kristin M. Musto Ferrari and her husband, Peter J. Ferrari, of Bedford, MA, and a cherished grandfather, "Papa," to Alexander Ferrari, Emma Ferrari, and Ryan Ferrari, all of Bedford, MA. He was the cherished brother of Elaine Musto Scarfo and her husband, Dominic Scarfo, of Coral Springs, Florida, as well as many brothers- and sisters-in-law. He was beloved by many nieces and nephews. Ralph was born in Boston in 1939 and graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Revere in 1957.

After graduation, Ralph joined the Air Force Reserve, where he served for six years. He was honorably discharged after serving with his unit during the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1963 .

Ralph was a 40-year employee of the Star Market Company, where he advanced from a part-time bagger to Store Manager at both the Medford Square and Woburn, Massachusetts, stores. Ralph also served as a seafood buyer for 15 years. He was well known throughout the industry for orchestrating a now-famous $1 million sale in one day.

After retirement, Ralph spent many years enjoying quality time with his grandchildren and their many friends throughout Bedford, MA. He also enjoyed gardening, traveling, and playing golf.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ralph's name to Runway for Recovery, an organization that meant so much to him and his family.

Funeral from the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington Thursday September 17 at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Brigid Church, Lexington at 10am. Visiting hours at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4pm to 7pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
