Raymond ("Ray") Farrell Iverson of Lexington, Massachusetts, passed away on April 20 th after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 81 years old.
Ray was born on December 29, 1940, to Einar and Edythe Iverson of Yonkers, New York. After graduating from Iona Preparatory School, he went on to study Business at Fordham University. After receiving his degree, Ray served in the New York National Guard and worked for Daniel Green, beginning a 37-year career in sales.
In 1963, he met Karen Meschi, and they wed in 1967. In 1984, he and Karen founded Corporate Furnishings and Design, an office furniture dealership that operated in Lexington and Burlington until it was acquired by Peabody Office Furniture in 1998.
After retiring in 2000, Ray spent his time at Lexington Golf Club, investing, volunteering as a medical appointment driver for FISH of Lexington, and spoiling his grandson as much as possible.
Ray is predeceased by his parents and his sister, Kathleen Hughes. He is survived by his wife, Karen, his son, Matthew, and his grandson, Evan.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church, Lexington at 10am on Saturday April 30th. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours at the funeral home Friday from 4pm to 7pm.
