Obituary

KESTLER, Richard M. Of Lexington, died May 10, 2012, peacefully after a short illness. He was the loving husband for 61 years of Florence Kestler. In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his children: Susan Kestler and her husband, Carl Katzeff, Richard Kestler Jr. and his spouse, James Bracciale, Marybeth Tom and her partner, James Bernabeo, Timothy Kestler and his partner, Manoel Ribeiro. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Kestler. His Grandchildren include: Matthew, Richard, Elizabeth, Michael, and Step-Grandchildren, Dominique and Nickolas. Originally from Chicago, Richard was a graduate of De Paul University and worked as a CPA for over 40 years at KPMG, formerly, Peat Marwick Mitchell and Co. He served his country in the army during WWII in the European theater and in occupied Japan. He remained active in his community and his church throughout his lifetime. He enjoyed tennis, square dancing, and spending time with family. Funeral from the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd., LEXINGTON, Wednesday, May 16, at 11 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Brigid Church, Lexington, at 12 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4PM to 8PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Smile Train CleftCharity.
