Obituary

In Loving Memory of Richard Joseph Marks
March 17, 1966 – October, 2025

Somerville, Massachusetts – Boca Raton, Florida

Richard Joseph Marks, beloved son, brother, father, and friend, passed away in Boca Raton, Florida, at the age of 59.

Born and raised in Somerville, Massachusetts, Richard was the cherished son of the late Joan (Dulkowsky) Marks and Robert E. Marks, Sr. He grew up surrounded by family, laughter, and a deep sense of loyalty — values that shaped the man he became.

After graduating from high school, Richard proudly joined the United States Army, where he served with honor and dedication. His time in the service remained one of his proudest accomplishments, and he often spoke with admiration about the experiences and friendships he gained while serving his country.

Following his military service, Richard pursued his passion for mechanics and engineering. He earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering, later completing an MBA — milestones that reflected his determination, discipline, and love of learning.

Outside of his career, Richard — lovingly known as Richie — was a man of many joys. He loved riding his motorcycle, spending time outdoors, and sharing family moments around the pool or by the fire. Sundays were sacred — filled with good food, laughter, and cheering for his favorite teams, the Red Sox and the Patriots.

In his later years, Richard found peace and happiness in Florida. He often said that trading the cold of New England for the warmth of the Sunshine State was one of the best decisions he ever made. He cherished his quiet moments by the pool, talking and laughing with his children — moments that brought him true contentment.

Richard's love and spirit will live on through his children — Julia F. DeLima-Marks, Joseph R. DeLima-Marks, and John S. DeLima-Marks, all of Ayer, Massachusetts — who were his greatest pride and joy.

He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings, Robert "Bobby" Marks, Doreen Warren, and the late David Marks, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
