The memorial service at Hancock UCC in Lexington on Saturday, March 21 has been postponed until a later date.
Richard G. Rockwell, a resident of Atria in Burlington, MA, died on, February 28, 2020 at Lahey Hospital. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on October 29, 1935, Richard was the son of Theo. and Virginia Rockwell. He was an avid fisherman and loved to travel to northern Maine for fly fishing expeditions. He shared his passion for the outdoors with a love of music, reading, and world history, and was always eager to engage people in conversations on politics and culture. Richard was a member of Hancock United Church of Christ in Lexington, MA, where he was involved with many outreach ministries. He enjoyed working with Habitat for Humanity and with residents at Place of Promise, both in Lowell.
Richard is survived by his wife Jane (Foster) Rockwell and three daughters: Kristen of Pittsburgh, PA; Sarah of Milford, NH, and Anne of Rockport, MA. His grandson, Luke Rockwell Simpson of Rockport, was his fishing partner and the apple of Richard's eye. Richard has a sister, Ann Martz of Wilmington, NC.
