Arthur, Robert W. of Lexington, formerly of Bedford, passed peacefully on March 9, 2023. Bob was the
son of George and Anna Arthur. Beloved husband for 53 years of the late Mary Jane (Duggan) Arthur.
Father of Thomas W. Arthur and his wife Kimberly of Sandwich, David C. Arthur of Sturbridge, and James
A. Arthur and his wife Kerry of Concord. Predeceased by his brothers, George Arthur, Charles Arthur, and
fraternal twin Richard Arthur. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Courtney, Ashton, Colton, Devon,
and Carson, and by many nieces, nephews, and two great grandchildren, named Blair and Cooper.
Robert graduated from Concord High School. He attended Columbia University and worked for Honeywell
for over 40 years and was a proud U.S. army veteran. Robert played multiple sports in high school and
played football at Columbia University. Bob retired in 2000, moving in 2004 to his lovely home on the
pond in Sturbridge. Robert was an avid reader, gardener, cook and animal lover. He will be missed by all
for his quick and ingenious wit and steady presence.
A Funeral Service will be held Thursday March 16 at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd.
Lexington at 10am. Visitation immediately prior to the service from 9am to 10am. Relatives and friends
are kindly invited. Interment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne also on Thursday at
1:45pm.
