Obituary

De Garavilla, Robert C., of Lexington, formerly of Wilmington, Jul 4 , 2022.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert deGaravilla.  Bob was born on July 10 , 1931 in Everett.  He raised his family in Wilmington and retired in Lexington, MA.

Bob was a devoted husband and partner, wonderful father, grandfather, and great grandfather and a loving role model to his family.

Bob obtained his education through the GI Bill after serving in the US Army.  He went to Salem State College where he earned his undergraduate and master's degree in teaching and taught Business Math at Tewksbury Memorial High School for over thirty years.

Bob was the beloved husband of the late Mari Carmen de Garavilla (Jauregui). Survived by his loving partner AnnaMae Barney of Sudbury.  Father of AnaMari de Garavilla and her husband Paul Hammond of Lexington, Cristina Warren and her husband Ken of Wilmington, Elisa Martyn and her husband Doug of North Andover, and Victoria O'Regan and her husband Ken of Wilmington. Brother of the late Richard de Garavilla, Anita Jauregui, and William de Garavilla. Devoted grandfather to 8 grandchildren, Robert, Caroline, Joseph, Peter, Katrina, Deirdre, James, and Olivia, and to his great grandchild, Isabelle, and by many nieces and nephews whom he cared for deeply.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday July 10 th at the Douglass Funeral home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington from 2pm to 4pm. From 4 to 5 pm there will be a celebration of life at the funeral home, and all are invited. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Private interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
