Dr. Robert J. Gordon

Robert Jacob Gordon, a longtime resident of Malden and then Melrose, passed away suddenly January 13, 2023, at home.

He was born in Philadelphia, PA on October 9, 1937, the only son of John Gordon and Cecilia Tarnove. He attended Malden High School, and received degrees from Boston University, and the University of Maryland Dental School.

Dr. Gordon began his professional career in and around Boston, before opening his own practice in Malden, MA in 1968. He continued to practice there for 55 years, until his death last week. He was part of the Cambridge Dental staff for over 35 years, and he was also a member and former chairman of the East Middlesex District Dental Society.

Bob will be remembered most for his love of his family, his sense of humor, his sweetness, thoughtfulness, and his unmatched work ethic.

He is survived by a son, Craig GordonVaughn, his wife Kelly, and their 3 children of Greenville; and a daughter, Renée Gordon of Santa Monica. He was uncle to Beth Corwin Kitzinger and EJ Corwin; and was the former husband of the late Nancy Gordon of Lexington, MA.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday January 18, at Temple Isaiah in Lexington at 10am.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dr. Gordon's memory may be made to The American Heart Association or to The Massachusetts Dental Society.
