Robert W. Harris, Jr. age 67 of Chelmsford, formerly of Billerica, passed away on November 12, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. Born April 15,1956 to Robert W. Harris and Dorothy (Vangeenhoven) in Cambridge, MA. After graduating from Billerica Memorial High School, he went on to proudly serve 4 years active duty and 22 years as a reservist in the United States Air Force.
He married the love of his life, Ruth, in 1978 and was happily married for 45 years. They had two amazing daughters, two wonderful sons-in-law and two precious grandchildren.
Bob retired in 2018 and loved spending time with family and friends, watching old movies, listening to oldies music, especially Bobby Darin, and a good cup of coffee.
Bob loved the Lord and was a member of Grace Chapel for over 40 years where he served in many capacities. He enjoyed the little things in life, had a great sense of humor, and loved his family and friends fiercely. He was a wonderful man and will be profoundly missed.
Beloved husband of Ruth (Woods) Harris. Loving father of Michelle Roose and her husband Trevor, and Jennifer L. and her husband Jonathan. Adored Papa to two grandchildren, Khloe and Ethan. Brother of Diana Davidson, Marylou DeLoach, Dorothy Balduf, Suzanne Czarnionka, David Harris, Francis Harris, and Fredrick Harris. He had many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. He was also an uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours are at Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd., Lexington, MA on Sunday November 19th from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday November 20th at Grace Chapel, 59 Worthen Rd., Lexington, MA at 1:00pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Private interment will be at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
In lieu of flowers, Bob requested that you share memories of him over a meal with loved ones at your favorite restaurant.
