Leslie, Robert M. Age 82, died Sunday, October 5th, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer. He served in the Army during the Korean War and afterwards dedicated his life to the community. He resided in Lexington where he served as a police officer with the Lexington Police Dept. for 49 years. Robert's greatest gift was his love of life and family. An accomplished wood worker, Robert built many things, including much of the house he resided in for over 50 years. Sunday dinners and barbeques were a Leslie tradition. He loved vacationing in Maine and playing with his grandchildren. Robert is survived by his wife of 62 years, Theresa (Coyne), a daughter, Kathleen of Chelmsford, sons, Brian of Groton, and Robert of Raymond, Maine, six grandchildren, and a large extended family. Visiting hours will be held 4-8 pm Friday, Oct. 10th at Douglas Funeral Home in Lexington. Funeral Mass will be held at 10am Saturday at St. Barbara's Church in Woburn.
