Sparrow, Rodney G. of Concord and Chatham, formerly of Acton, May 14, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Deborah (Curtis) Sparrow. Loving father of Tobey C. Marchal and her husband Christophe of Littleton, and Stacey S. Brooks and her husband Jay of Sudbury. Adored grandfather of Oliver and Hazel Marchal and William and Tyler Brooks. Dear big brother of Ginger Scott and her husband Bruce of West Barnstable. Preceded in death by brother Rick Sparrow and parents Richard and Virginia Sparrow.
Rodney grew up in Lexington, MA and graduated from the University of Maine where he studied business and played football. He met his wife as a teenager in Chatham, MA where they continued to enjoy many summers and special times with family. Beyond his wife and daughters, Rod was most proud of Leaktite Corporation, the successful family business he owned and operated for 40 years, best known for manufacturing Home Depot's orange buckets. He founded the Acton-Boxborough Pop Warner Football program, served as a Corporator for Emerson Hospital in Concord, and was a dedicated supporter of athletics at U. Maine. Rod will be remembered fondly for his bright smile, generosity, and undeniable charm.
A celebration of life reception will be held on Wednesday, May 24 th at Longfellow's Wayside Inn, 72 Wayside Inn Road in Sudbury, MA 01776 11:30am – 3:30pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Memorial donations may be made to Emerson Hospital, 133 Old Road to 9 Acre Corner, Concord, MA 01742.
