DaRu, Rose L. (Scarpino) Of Lexington, died Oct. 9, 2010. Loving wife of the late Dennis C. DaRu, Sr. Devoted Mother of Marianne Peabody-Landry and her husband Raymond of Thornton, NH, and Dennis C. DaRu, Jr. and his wife Cynthia of Lexington. Loving Grandmother of Laura (Peabody) Rodgers and her husband Bruce, Clinton Peabody and his wife Christal (Royea), all of Thornton, NH, and Michael DaRu and John DaRu of Lexington. Great-grandmother of Bruce and Justine Rodgers and Madelynn and Lillian Peabody. Rose was born in Watertown on December 10, 1918 and moved to Lexington upon her marriage. She worked for many years at Hood Rubber in Watertown, where she made lifelong friendships. Rose was the daughter of the late Mary (Cotone) and Frank Scarpino. Sister to the late Salvatore Scarpino, the late Anna (Scarpino) Silvestri, the late Eleanor (Scarpino) Dalicandro and Marion Scarpino of Middleborough, MA. Rose is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral from the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Road, LEXINGTON, Wednesday, October 13 at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church, Watertown at 11 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4 pm to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Campton/Thornton Fire Rescue, Rt. 49, Campton, NH 03223. Interment Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
