Obituary

Satya Narayana Hanumara of Lexington, MA, peacefully entered his eternal rest on August 23, 2009 at the age of 94. Beloved husband of late Venkata Narsamamba. Beloved father of Ammani Dasari, Sairani Ravi and late Lakshmi Rambabu Hanumara. Venerable father-in-law of Ghanteswara Rao Dasari and Venkata Seshu Ravi. Admired and adored grandfather of Sridhar and his wife Anitha, Sriram and his wife Varalaxmi, Srilakshmi, Madhuri, and Srikanth; and great-grandfather of Arjun, Sonali, and Tarini. Born in Peyyeru on May 8, 1915, was a graduate of Nobel College of Machilipatnam where he was a champion and captain of the soccer team. He retired as chairman of Krishna Co-Operative Bank. Highly respected member of the local and national Telugu community and the community in Andhra Pradesh, India. A devoted and active participant in the Srilakshmi Temple. A prolific reader – known to family and friends as the walking encyclopedia. His love of music was only surpassed by his passion for tennis which he played until a decade ago. Known for his principles and discipline as demonstrated by his practice of yoga until last year. He had an insatiable curiosity about all aspects of life that kept him forever young in spirit. Memorial donations may be made to the MS Society of North America. Funeral arrangements by Douglass Funeral Home of Lexington, 51 Worthen Road, Lexington, MA 02421. Visiting Hours Tuesday August 25th from 5-9pm, Funeral Service and Cremation at Mount Auburn Cemetery, 580 Mount Auburn Street, Cambridge on Wednesday, August 26th at 9am.
