LEXINGTON Gilbert, Scott Douglas, CWO, USCG (Ret.) of Lexington, on April 20, 2023 at the age of 59. Beloved husband of Stephanie and loving father of Connor James. He is survived by parents William and Floris Gilbert of Buckhannon, WV and Ruskin, FL and sisters Sharon Romano (husband John) of Indian Land, SC and Becky Epperson (husband Brent) of Tampa, FL, and many nieces and nephews.

He was a graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School and earned a B.S. in nuclear engineering from Excelsior College. His military career spanned 6 yrs in the Navy and 24 yrs in the Coast Guard (14 yrs at sea!). His later work included circuit tech production, project management, and logistics. He liked martial arts & his favorite Krav Maga, to fish on cold faraway jaunts, & to enjoy his son's fife & drum troupe events.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday April 29 at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington at 10am. Visiting hours Friday from 4pm to 7pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory  may be made to the MSPCA or American Cancer Society.
