DerMARDEROSIAN-ACUFF, Sheila M. (Woolner) 74, of Mashpee, formerly of Lexington, died on Friday, June 3, 2016, at her daughter's home in Ipswich. She was born on April 4, 1942, the daughter of the late John Woolner and Rita (McWeeney) Pothier, both of the Boston area. Beloved wife of Thomas Acuff, and former wife of the late Aaron DerMarderosian, and loving mother of of Aaron C. DerMarderosian, Jr. of Florida, and Alexandria Matossian and her husband Hagop Matossian, of Ipswich, and stepdaughter, Elizabeth Framson of Hyannis. Sheila is also survived by countless loving family members and friends. An advocate for the challenged, Sheila worked as Executive Director for Greater Marlboro Programs, Inc. and Director of Lexington Friends Community, Inc. She was a Citizen Advocate for the Department of Developmental Services in Massachusetts. She also served as steward for the Lexington Conservation Commission. Artistic by nature, Sheila created pottery through her work with Mudflat Gallery in Cambridge, painted, sketched and designed and created costumes for area theatrical productions. Sheila was most notably known for her generous spirit. Funeral from the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd., LEXINGTON, Thursday, June 9th at 9:00 AM followed by a Funeral Service at Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church of Greater Boston, 145 Brattle St. in Cambridge at 10 AM.
