O'Brien, Stephen F. of Lexington, May 28, 2021.Devoted brother of Susan Hom and her husband Stan of Lexington, Peter O'Brien of Cambridge, Joseph O'Brien and family of Gilmer, Texas, James O'Brien and his wife Jocelyne of Wilmington, Catherine Caplin and her husband Josh of Wakefield, Robert O'Brien and his wife Hannah of Westport, Connecticut, and the late Kenneth O'Brien.  Stephen is the son of the late James P. O'Brien and is survived by his loving stepmother, Catherine O'Brien. Uncle of Stephanie, Emily, Rachel, Hannah, Lily, Emrick, Colby, Nevan, Alex and Ava. He also leaves his cherished stepdaughter Alex and his stepson Nick, and many dear friends.

Stephen had a strong work ethic, never missing a day and always sharing a smile.  In his spare time, he enjoyed socializing with his friends, watching and and playing golf, cheering on the Patriots, and playing poker and cribbage. He also had a great interest in horse racing and the lottery.  Stephen had a good sense of humor and liked to tease his friends and family, always sure to get a laugh. His kindness and generosity will always be remembered.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 4th, at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Road, Lexington at 11am with calling hours, immediately prior to the service from 9:30am to 11am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. In lieu of flowers donations in Stephen's memory can be made to the Massachusetts General Center for Cancer Research, Massachusetts General Hospital Development Office 125 Nashua Street, Suite 540, Boston, MA 02114. The family will have a private burial at a later date.
