KIRKHAM, Thomas A. Jr. Of Lexington, July 15, 2012. Husband of Lois E. (Jordan) Kirkham. Father of Patricia McCabe and her husband William of Pembroke, and Thomas R. Kirkham and his wife Marion of Union, ME. Brother of Doris Kirkham of Georgetown, Ontario. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Daniel, Kimberly, Iain, and Brittany. Tom attended Boston English High School and earned distinguished Franklin Medal. Attended MIT, graduated with a master's degree in chemical engineering in 1948. His education was interrupted by WWII, he enlisted in the Navy and was aboard the USS Coleman entering Tokyo Harbor. He located in Lexington, was employed by Ionics, Inc. over 35 years. On retirement he served as a manager of Bermuda Waterworks. He enjoyed golf, boating, and his family, and was particularly proud of his academic achievements. A funeral service will be held Thursday July 19 at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington at 11am. Relatives and friends are kindly invite to attend.
