Thomas H. Niles
1941 – 2025

Thomas H. Niles, 84, a lifelong Massachusetts resident, real estate professional, philanthropist, and avid boater, passed away peacefully at his home on September 15th.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ann; their children, Kimberly, Christine, and Thos; six grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters.

Raised in Hingham, MA, Tom graduated from Nichols College in 1963 and began his career at The Niles Company, Inc., his family's property management and real estate firm specializing in multifamily housing across Greater Boston. He became President in 1974, leading the company for more than 20 years. After selling his interest, he focused on investment real estate management for properties owned by himself, his family, and associates, while continuing to pursue development opportunities.

Tom was active in professional and civic organizations. He served as an elected officer of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board's Rental Housing Association and the Institute of Real Estate Management, and as a Trustee and Board Member of the Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Center, the Coast Guard Foundation, the Buzzards Bay Coalition, and Nichols College alumni groups.

A passionate boater, Tom cherished time on the waters of Cape Cod, a love he shared with his family.

A private family service will be held, with a celebration of Tom's life planned for a later date.
