Thomas Tsaros, adored husband, beloved father, fearsome fisherman, grillmaster, and all-around Mensch, passed away on July 31, 2023.

Thomas "Tom, Tommy" was born on February 10th, 1964, in Concord, NH. His early years of working in his parent's restaurant impressed upon him the value of hard work and the importance of roasting the perfect lamb.  After graduating  from Concord High School in 1982, Tom attended the University of Lowell (now UMass Lowell) and received a Bachelor's of Science degree in 1986, and a Master's of Science degree in 1987, both in Mechanical Engineering.

Tom's passion for lamb was exceeded only by his zeal for creating a greener world through energy efficiency and infrastructure renewal. This led to a fulfilling and productive career of over 30 years.

His areas of focus included public housing, hospitals, and government and academic facilities.  He was an early employee of the energy services firm Ameresco, serving as an Engineering Manager and Director in various capacities for 16 years developing energy conservation projects throughout the U.S.  Tom completed his career as a Service Leader with the engineering firm Fitzemeyer & Tocci Associates.  At Fitzemeyer & Tocci, he developed and grew the company's Energy and Infrastructure service sector and it thrives today from his vision and direction. Tom particularly appreciated the firm's culture of professionalism and was thankful for the compassion and generous support they provided during his illness.

Tom shared his passion for HVAC and energy conservation with friends and neighbors - anyone who needed a quick tutorial on split systems could call Tom at any hour to be treated to a lively and informative session on improving the performance of their home heating system while also reducing their energy bills.

He shared his enormous heart and generous spirit with the community through his love of volunteering. He was active with the Cub Scouts, Lexington Pack 137, as a Den Leader, Assistant Cub Master and Cub Master. The Scouts and their parents fondly recall the enthusiasm and dedication he brought to every Scouting event. Tom would gladly take a pie to the face or perform a jubilant version of "Baby Shark" to keep the Scouts engaged.

Tom always took action while others simply complained about the state of the world.  As such, he was a founding member of LexRAP, the Lexington Refugee Assistance Program, where he endeavored to assist Asylum Seekers and welcome future Americans to a better life. Tom was also a steward of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox church of Lexington, serving on its Parish Council as a member and President.

Tom valued his family above all else. His entire "Bucket List" was two items long: 1, Be with Family; 2, Go fishing

Mornings were precious and Tom would delight in an early morning run or an invigorating session of CrossFit or yoga. Weekend mornings were an opportunity to tend to his garden or plan his favorite Martha's Vineyard trip for the family. On the occasional evening, he would enjoy poker games with friends. As a pathologically honest man, Tom rarely bluffed when playing poker and still managed to win hands - supporting his belief that honesty is the best policy.

Tom was a person of integrity, honor, morality and dignity, with a sense of what was right and responsible. Throughout his illness and treatment, Tom always thought of others first and wanted to ensure that every visitor was met with a warm smile and the best of himself that he could offer. That was who Tom was. Tom will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Tom was predeceased by his parents, Lazaros and Theopoula Tsaros of Concord, NH. Tom is survived by his wife, Amantha Tsaros and children Sophia "Clover" and Alexander "Ash" of Lexington, MA. He is also survived by his sister, Lula Melisko, and her husband, Marc, of Graham, NC, his brother, Demetrios Tsaros and his wife, Vanessa, of Concord, NH, and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, and "his brothers" and sister on his wife's side.

Funeral: Friday, August 4th at 10:00 am at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 17 Meriam St., Lexington MA

Burial at Westview Cemetery, Lexington, MA

Mourners are invited to join us for lunch at Cafe Escadrille, 26 Cambridge St., Burlington following the funeral and burial.

The carving station was a specific demand from Tom who wanted to ensure that anyone who gave their time to him would have roast sirloin. "I want to make sure I feed everyone properly."
