Timothy James Phelan, 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family May 24th, 2026.  Tim was born August 21st, 1952 to Paul and Mary Phelan in Lexington, Massachusetts, while also spending considerable parts of his life raising his family in Billerica and Dunstable, MA.

After finishing school and serving in the air force national guard, Tim worked as a landscaper, trapper, and tow-truck driver before finding his calling and spending the next 50 years self-employed as a contractor and in construction, proudly working on countless homes in the Middlesex County and Cape Cod.  But his true passion was the outdoors.  He was an avid woodsman, spending as much time as he could spare in the woods, hunting, looking for antlers, fishing, and simply being with nature.  A passion he shared with all of his loved ones.

It was in his hometown that Tim met the love of his life and future wife, Jean Belcik. The two would marry in 1984.  They moved to Billerica where he spent 23 years building and continually adding to his own house and his family.  He had four loving children and welcomed many others into his home during this time, and built just as many additions to what started as a modest house to keep up with his growing family.  He moved to Dunstable in 2007, having realized he could do no more on his Billerica house and it was time to start from the ground up.

Aside from his caring, protective, and generous nature, and his impressive ability to fix damn near anything, Tim always had a smile on his face; singing, dancing, joking, or telling a story to anyone that would listen.  A brain, an athlete, a basket case, a princess, or a criminal, it didn't matter to Tim, he would find a way to befriend them all.

Tim is survived by his wife Jean, his daughter Christina and her husband Allan, son John-Paul and his wife Stephanie, daughter Corinne and her husband Tom, and his daughter Carolyn and her husband Elio, as well as his mother Mary, his twin brother Tom, his younger brothers Paul, Rob, and Bill, his younger sister Jean, and his grandchildren, Lucas, Chase, Jason, Adrian, Sofia, and Leo.  His is predeceased by his father Paul Sr. and grandson Ethan.

Services will be held at Westview Cemetery in Lexington on Tuesday, June 2nd, at 12:00pm with a reception following at Sorella in Burlington at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hunt of a Lifetime Foundation in Tim's name.
