Viola Ann Mowry Storer passed away peacefully in Lexington, MA on Saturday July 15, 2017 at age 90. Known as Vicky to her friends in Lexington, she was born in 1927 in Oxford, New York, oldest of three daughters of Ruth Honor Tracy Mowry and Frank Andrew Mowry.  She lived in Lexington with her husband, James Edward Storer, for 60 years.

In Oxford, she was known as Vi Ann, was valedictorian of her graduating class at the Oxford Academy and received a scholarship to attend Cornell University where she met Jim. Vicky graduated in 1948 with a Bachelor's of Science in Organic Chemistry and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society.  After college, she worked as a chemist at the National Research Corporation from 1948 to 1953.  Vicky and Jim married in 1949 and moved to Lexington a few years later where they raised their family.  Vicky took on the challenge of restoring their historic farmhouse. She would say " our old house needed a few things - like a roof, electricity, heat and hot water".    Vicky was active in her church community and the Lexington Historical Society.  Vicky returned to work part time in 1972 at the Hayden Recreation Center teaching swimming to adults and children.

Vicky is survived by her three children, James Andrew Storer and his wife Sandy Anderson Storer of Lincoln, MA, Ann Mowry Storer of Winchester, MA, and Mark Curtis Storer and his wife Toni Laurie Storer of Encinitas, CA and seven grandchildren; James Alexander Storer, Timothy Theodore Storer,  Dara Judyth Storer, Catherine Tracy Mulhern, Julia Storer Mulhern, James  Harrison Mulhern and Alex Curtis Storer.  She is also survived by two nieces, Martha Davis of Burlington, VT and Sally Baird of Sterling, MA and a nephew, Andrew Mowry Day of Lodi, NY.  She was predeceased by her husband, James Edward Storer in 2016.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 16 at 10:30 at the Church of Our Redeemer (6 Meriam Street, Lexington, MA) followed by a reception at the family home in Lexington.   Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Massachusetts Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSCPA-Angel) and the Church of Our Redeemer.
