He was affectionately known as Billy and will always be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and his unwavering love for the Boston Celtics. Billy's love for his family was evident in everything he did. He is survived by his devoted wife, Carol A. (DeVito) Buckley, whom he was married to for 58 years. He was a loving father to Michael W. Buckley and his wife Jennifer of Bedford, and Susan M. Kingsbury and her husband Scott of Lexington. Billy was an adoring Papa to Liam, Ella, Hailey, Nolan, and Brayden, who brought him immense joy. Additionally, he was an uncle to many nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by his parents Mary Louise (Brett) and Daniel J. Buckley, and siblings John J. Buckley, Joan M. Buckley, and Daniel J. Buckley, Jr. Apart from his family, Billy was deeply involved in his communities. He was a proud employee of Polaroid Corporation for many years, and after retirement, he continued his strong work ethic alongside his beloved Celtics at HealthPoint. Billy's passion for sports also extended to coaching Belmont Youth Basketball Association for many years. He also dedicated his time to the Bedford Council on Aging, Lexington Elks, Knights of Columbus, and volunteering at the Bedford VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 4th, at 10:30 am at St. Brigid Church, Lexington. Prior to the Mass, a visitation with the family will be held from 9:00 am to 10:15 am at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd., Lexington. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Special Olympics, a cause that Billy strongly supported.
