Pjura, William J. of Lexington, MA, formerly of Bridgeport, CT, Dec. 12, 2024. Husband of Kathleen (Mangan). Son of the late Dr. George Pjura and Anne (Michalka) Pjura. Father of Sophia A. Pjura and William D. Pjura, both of Lexington. Brother of Dr. George Pjura and Philip Pjura. He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.

After attending the Manhattan School of Music and Berklee College, Bill went on the road playing trombone in big bands across the country including a stint in Vegas. He later decided to go back to school and received three undergraduate degrees in Math, Biology and Chemistry. He attended University of Ulm in Germany as a Fulbright scholar and received a Ph.D. from Harvard in Biophysics.

Bill found his passion for data while doing research work, which culminated in his long career as a Data Architect. He was an active member of the Massachusetts Chapter of the Fulbright Association holding various board positions. His favorite hobbies included walking, talking academia, attending Sophia's performances, Will's sporting events and traveling with Kathy. Bill's presence and emojis will be greatly missed.
