Obituary

Willis (Will) McGowan Hunt of Lexington passed away peacefully at his home in Lexington on March 26, 2023. He was 92 years of age.

Born in Montreal, Canada in 1930, the son of Fay Herrick Hunt and Angeline Willis Hunt.

A longtime resident of Lexington, Mr. Hunt is survived by his daughter Kimberley McCarthy and husband Clay McCarthy, of Vista Ca.

Mr. Hunt was predeceased by his wife Joanna (Hart) Hunt, sister Anne Hunt, daughters Stacey Montalto and Stephanie Irby, and former wife Natalie (Kriluck) Hunt.

Mr. Hunt attended Queen's University in Ontario. He later came to the US to attend Harvard Business School. After graduation he remained in the country and was employed by Cabot Corporation as a marketing and financial project manager. He later went on to become a marketing consultant.

At retirement Mr. Hunt pursued his passion for wood craft as an active member of the Woodworkers Guild at Lexington Arts and Crafts Society (Lex Art).  He devoted himself to improving and perfecting his skill in segmented wood turning and started The Turning Point, to showcase his beautiful bowls.  Will was always a friend and mentor to all who shared his craft.
